The Farmers Insurance Open truly kicks off the PGA Tour season with Tiger Woods making his first start and the tee times for the tournament event starts up at 12 pm noon and Woods will be teeing off at 1:40 pm ET and this is a tournament he won last year and is at a course that he loves from Torrey Pines Golf Course in La Jolla and Thursday has the first round coverage on the Golf Channel in the afternoon.
The coverage on Thursday comes from 3 to 7 pm from the Golf Channel and on the same schedule for Friday for round two and then on Saturday the third round will split coverage between the Golf Channel and CBS and the same goes for Sunday and those times will run from 1 pm to 2:30 pm Golf and then on CBS from 3 to 6 pm.
Woods won five times on Tour last season and this was one of them and now he is looking for the chance to get his first major in a number of years and starting off on the right foot will be a good way to get that done. Woods will not have to worry about visiting his girlfriend Lindsey Vonn in Russia, as she will be out of the Sochi Olympics with a knee injury and he now can concentrate on the early schedule. Woods is back at number one in the world after getting back his top ranking last season.
Woods has already won eight times at Torrey Pines and he is going for another record, as no one has ever won nine times at the same course. Woods is playing at this for the first tournament of the year apart from the Northwestern Mutual World Challenge for the 2013-14 season and now Woods will get the chance to tee off at 1:40 pm. The rest of the field gets started up at 12 pm and tee times follow after that.
