The NBA All-Star game roster and starting lineups will be released and the announcement comes on TNT starting up at 7 pm on a special edition of Inside the NBA and it comes before a doubleheader on Thursday with the Los Angeles Lakers, Miami Heat, Denver Nuggets and Portland Trail Blazers in action.
The starting lineups for the All-Star game for the east and west will be announced on Thursday and some of the top vote getters in each conference includes players like LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Carmelo Anthony and Chris Paul and now the full rosters have the chance to have some injured players in it as well as some that are actually deserving. Stephen Curry has risen into third position in the voting heading into the final reveal and heading into the weeks prior, James and Durant were the top vote getters.
The current voting likely will hold with a few possible changes and the projections have Dwyane Wade, Kyrie Irving, LeBron James, Paul George and Carmelo Anthony and the rest of the front and backcourts have Derrick Rose, John Wall, Ray Allen, Roy Hibbert and Chris Bosh. Obviously some of those players are injured and the same goes for the western conference and this is an issue the NBA has dealt with for many years and it has come up again. Rose is likely out for the season and Wade has been banged up all year, while in the West Kobe Bryant was one of the top vote getters and he has been injured for nearly the entire season as well.
The NBA looks very bad when this happens and so does the fans and while other players will get in, the league needs to do something about it eventually. In the west Durant has been the leader and he comes in with Bryant and Curry as the likely backcourt vote winners, while Durant, Dwight Howard and Blake Griffin were leading at last tally. Chris Paul was one of the leaders and he will likely miss the game with an injury, while Kevin Love, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jeremy Lin and James Harden were also top vote getters and they should be making the team as well.
The starting lineups will be very strong for both sides no matter who ends up playing and James and Durant should end up being the top vote getters of all the players. Curry has never made an all-star team and he looks like a lock now, while the coaches will fill out the rosters with seven reserves and those will be very interesting to see as well.
