Barack Obama will host the New York Giants today at the White House for the annual meeting between the President and the Super Bowl Champions.

The Giants will be presenting the Commander-in-Chief with a blue (home) jersey bearing "Obama" on the nameplate and the number "44".

It is still unclear if departed Giants such as Brandon Jacobs, Mario Manningham, or Dave Tollefson will temporarily leave their respective teams to make the trip. Both Jacobs and Manningham decided not to miss offseason prep time and did not leave San Francisco to receive their championship rings in person.

Should they miss the event, they would certainly not be the first players to turn down an opportunity to meet the President of the United States. In 2006 and in 2009, Steelers  defender, James Harrison, opted out of the chance to visit the White House.

The Giants last visited the White House during the tail end of President Bush's term when they ended the New England Patriots undefeated season with a surprise Super Bowl victory.
