The controversy surrounding Terrell Suggs's Achillies injury is officially for naught.  Via a statement to The Baltimore Sun, Ravens team owner Steve Bisciotti confirmed Friday that the club has no intention of slashing Suggs's pay.

Suggs's injury allegedly occurred during a pick-up basketball game.  If that were to be the case, the team would have been able to garnish Suggs's wages for the games he will undoubtedly miss. They could designate him to the Non-Football Injury list and save some of the salary that the linebacker is owed in 2012.

Suggs has maintained, despite evidence to the contrary, that the injury was suffered while he was training for the upcoming season. Regardless, the incident occurred away from the Raven's facility and on Suggs's own time and thus, the Non-Football Injury list remains a theoretical possibility.

Bisciotti claims that the origin of the injury is not important and indicated that he was impressed with Suggs's desire to stay active during his down time. 

Currently, Suggs is confident that he will be able to avoid sitting out the entirety of the season. Suggs could very well be one of the first players to benefit from the league's new IR rules, which give each team the ability to reactivate one player off the list per season.  Suggs expects to return by the final month of the campaign.
