Who Is Singing National Anthem At Super Bowl? Renee Fleming First Opera Singer To Perform Before Halftime Show With Bruno Mars

The question of who will sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl was answered before last week as Opera singer Renee Fleming was revealed as the singer to start the game and she marks the first time that an artist from her genre and field has been given the nod and comes after Alicia Keys sang it in New Orleans and now Fleming will be front and center on Sunday night at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey for SB XLVIII between the Denver Broncos and the Seattle Seahawks.

Fleming is 54 years old and she comes in with many awards and achievements in her career, including winning multiple Grammy Awards and she has also put put 10 solo albums and now she can add Super Bowl national anthem singer to her resume. Fleming has also been awarded a National Medal of Arts from President Obama and that is another reason why she was an excellent choice to be the first opera singer to do the national anthem at the Super Bowl. Fleming has been involved with sports before and she has previously performed for the President and at the World Series and the weather has played along beautifully for her voice and for the players, as the temperature is above 40 degrees and that should make for an enjoyable experience for the fans and everyone else involved in the game.

Fleming comes after some amazing singers at other games like Christina Aguilera and Whitney Houston and the game on Sunday has one of the best matchups in recent memory with the Seattle Seahawks taking on the Denver Broncos. The two teams come in with the best records in the NFL at 13-3 and they were the number one seeds for the AFC and NFC this season and come into the Super Bowl after winning against the New England Patriots and the San Francisco 49ers.

The game temperature is expected to go under 40 degrees at some point, but the weather overall has been perfect for the NFL and both the Seahawks and Broncos have dealt with the elements this season and are ready for any precipitation. The Broncos come in looking for their first championship since John Elway won it for them back in the 90s and Manning is looking for his second Super Bowl and he would be the first QB to win championship while starting for two different franchises. The game starts up around 6:30 pm ET and Fleming will be singing the national anthem before the game and should be live on TV around that time and the game presentation is on FOX and the matchup will be broadcast by Joe Buck and Troy Aikman. Fleming is the first opera singer to have the distinction of singing the national anthem.
