English Premier League Table and Standings: Chelsea First Over Arsenal and Manchester City After Blues Draw

The EPL Table and English Premier League standings has Chelsea on top after the results on Tuesday, as the Blues are first over Arsenal and Manchester City after their draw over West Bromwich and that came after a first half goal from Branislav Ivanovic, while the Gunners and Man City pick things up on Wednesday.

Chelsea came into the week in first place on the league table after Arsenal was handily beaten by Liverpool last week and that match has set up a tight race at the top of the EPL table and manager Jose Mourinho has said that any of the top four teams could end up winning the championship this year. The Blues have been playing extremely well after a shaky period earlier in the season and the talk from Mourinho is decidedly different than when he said that Chelsea would not be winning any trophies this year.

Chelsea came into play on Tuesday with a one point lead on Arsenal and they are two up on Man City, meaning a loss or a draw would keep them in reach for those clubs on Wednesday. Chelsea could have given themselves a four point lead heading into Wednesday with a win and now they have a two point lead instead, meaning that Arsenal and Man City are able to catch them and that may leave the Blues at the top of the EPL table heading into the 10 day break for the FA Cup, Cap One Cup and Champions League schedule.

Man City finally suffered a home loss at the Etihad and on the table the Gunners and Man City are up over Liverpool and Tottenham. The Reds are four points back of Man City and are three points up on Everton and that leaves Manchester United in seventh place on the table after their tough draw against Fulham last week. Man U has some ground to cover to make any headway in the standings and they have a very tough match coming up with Arsenal at the Emirates and both clubs need that victory badly.

The other matches on Wednesday includes Man City taking on Sunderland at the Etihad, while Liverpool and Fulham play the late match at Craven Cottage and that comes after the Gunners host Man U at the Emirates. Southampton finished on top of Hull City on the road and that came after a goal from Jose Fonte, while West Ham United held firm against Norwich and won on two goals from James Collins and Mohamed Diame and in the early match, Aston Villa and Cardiff played to a scoreless draw and amazingly enough, not a single goal was scored in regulation in the first half on Tuesday, with the extra time Chelsea goal being the only one.
