The Miami Heat got the bounce-back win they desperately needed after defeating the Phoenix Suns on Tuesday night despite Dwyane Wade sitting on the bench. LeBron James once again did enough to get the defending champs another west coast victory during their road trip. The team hopes to continue the momentum over the conference's best as they face the Golden State Warriors in their final game before the All-Star break.
James was big in the wake of Wade's absence, something that has headlined the Heat's season. The forward put up 37 points on 12-of-22 shooting for Miami. The team trailed early, but rallied for the win. The Heat is now 2-1 on their six-game road trip. It was an impressive showing for James and the Heat, but the absence of Wade once again has people concerned.
The Miami Heat are certainly better with the guard on the court. With Wade, the Heat 28-8, but without them they are 8-6 on the season. Wade was crucial the last time the Heat played Golden State. He put up 22 points Jan. 2 while James recorded 26 in the loss. Stephen Curry dominated with 36 points while going 8 for 15 from beyond the arc. In his previous four games before sitting against the Suns, Wade was averaging 21.3 points on 62.5 percent shooting.
The Warriors got the win over the Heat while they were in the midst of a 10-game win streak. However, since that has ended they have gone 7-8. However, they bounced back against the Philadelphia 76ers, holding to the team to just 11.8 percent shooting for 3-point range. Forward Marreese Speights put up 32 points in the win.
The Warriors will be tested up front against the Heat. Both Andrew Bogut and Jermaine O'Neal are expected to be out with injuries, causing depth issues for Golden State.
