Jimmer Fredette Trade Rumors: Minnesota Timberwolves, NY Knicks, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs Options For Kings Star?

Jimmer Fredette has been mentioned in trade rumors over the past two seasons and after his amazing night at MSG this week, he has come up again and now teams like the Minnesota Timberwolves, NY Knicks, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz, San Antonio Spurs and Chicago Bulls could be interested in acquiring him.

Fredette's name has come up in trade rumors after the Kings declined to pick up his fourth year option and that could lead to a deal at the deadline since he will be a free agent coming up. Fredette has not been given the chance to play a high amount of minutes over the past few years, but this season he has been killing it from three point range and a team looking to add a shooter or a player of his skill set could be willing to part with a draft pick. The Kings have a bulk of players of his position, including names like Marcus Thornton, Ben McLemore and Greivis Vasquez all playing similar styles and that has led to him being mostly a reserve.

The 24-year-old has been playing well of late and that could lead to more interest coming up as the deadline gets closer to the February 20 date. It says a lot that the Kings were not willing to pick up his $3.1 million option and now some teams could be looking at him in the same way when he came out of college, as he averaged nearly 30 points and was the top scorer in the nation in 2011 and won the Naismith College Player of the Year award.

Fredette was excellent against the Knicks this week with 24 points and he also was hitting the lights out from three point range and he helped the team come back from a 12 point deficit to get the win at MSG. The Knicks likely would not make a move like this, but some of the other teams could get in on the action and Fredette could fit with the Boston Celtics as well as the Timberwolves, as they are looking to make a move heading into the deadline to try and show Kevin Love that he should stay after 2015, but that likely won't happen either.

The trading deadline is expected to be active this season, but with all the rumors coming out it could end up being a did once again. The Orlando Magic could be a team that gets involved, as they are one of the worst in the NBA and they have players like Arron Afflalo, Glen Davis and Jameer Nelson and those could be attractive players for teams at the deadline.
