The New England Patriots are heading into free agency with a solid roster of talent coming back for 2014, but there are a number of names to keep an eyes on, including Julian Edelman, LeGarrette Blount, Aqib Talib and Brandon Spikes, while the Pats could chase players like Jared Allen, Justin Tuck or Sidney Rice.
The Patriots have a number of players to take care of on their own and names like Edelman, Blount and Talib could be moving on, as could Spikes if teams chase him with some cash money. The Patriots are usually smart with veteran signings and if someone like Tuck or Allen comes in at cheaper than expected, they could make a move. Sidney Rice fits into that category as well and he could be a nice addition to a young and deep wideout group that Bill Belichick has put together.
Edelman should get some attention after the season he had and so should Blount, as he came on very strong at the end and could turn that into a starting job somewhere. Edelman had a great season after Danny Amendola started the year hurt and he made up for the loss of Wes Welker, making 105 catches for 1,056 yards and six touchdowns and Blount ended up with 772 yards and impressive seven touchdowns.
The team could go after names like Eugene Monroe or Austin Howard in free agency, while tight end could be interesting, as names like Brandon Pettigrew, Dennis Pitta and Scott Chandler also are available and this comes after Gronk was injured last season.
