NBA Rumors and News: Jimmer Fredette Spurs Target As Beno Udrih Claimed By Memphis Grizzlies, Caron Butler Signing With Miami Heat, Chicago Bulls or Thunder?

The NBA rumor mill is heating up and with buyouts coming, teams are targeting players and Jimmer Fredette has been one for the Memphis Grizzlies and to get started they claimed NY Knicks guard Beno Udrih off waivers, while Caron Butler had his contract bought out and could be an option for the Miami Heat or San Antonio Spurs.

According to ESPN.com, Udrih was claimed by the Grizzlies after they tried to work out a deal for Jimmer Fredette and now he could sign somewhere else, including the Heat, Spurs or Knicks. The Knicks originally bought out Udrih from his contract after he went into Mike Woodson's dog house and now maybe they wish they had him, as Raymond Felton has been terrible this season and then of course he got arrested for gun charges.

The Grizzlies are right in the mix of things and they feel that adding some depth behind Mike Conley can help them down the stretch this season and Udrih was doing next to nothing in NY anyway. Fredette is a free agent and can sign with whatever team he chooses and he has been shooting nearly 50 percent from three point range this season and someone out there has to find that valuable. The Spurs have dealt with a ton of injuries and with Tony Parker out they could look to someone like Fredette.

According to ESPN.com, the Grizzlies were successful in their waiver claim on Udrih, who was placed by the Knicks, while Fredette and Udrih's former teammate in Metta World Peace are now on the market. Fredette worked out a deal with the Kings to get out of his contract and this comes after three seasons with the team and he was never able to establish himself as a legitimate rotation player. Fredette has been great from three point range and just had a career night against the Knicks, but he now is moving on from the Kings.

The Bucks have bought out Caron Butler and now he is free to sign with other teams as well if he gets past waivers. The San Antonio Spurs and Miami Heat could be options for Butler and Yahoo Sports reports that Chicago is also in the mix along with Oklahoma City.
