Eric Decker Rumors: Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers Free Agent Targets For WR?

Eric Decker is one of the top free agents on the market this offseason and if he leaves the Denver Broncos, teams like the Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and New york Giants could be options for him to sign for the 2014 season.

The free agent period doesn't officially begin until March 11, but teams are already looking out for potential targets and names on the market and Decker has been one of the top ones mentioned. According to ESPN.com, the Broncos are going to allow Decker to hit free agency along with Knowshon Moreno and while they would like to sign him, they also feel that letting him test the market is the best move for the team.

Wes Welker is much older, but he didn't get paid a ton last season and depending on what Decker finds, he could end up returning to the Broncos for the right price. Decker was one of the most underpaid players in the league last season, as he got paid just over $1 million and had 87 receptions, 1,288 yards and 11 touchdowns while working with Peyton Manning. Decker has shown that he is a great slot receiver and deep threat and while he put up great numbers with Manning that could translate to other teams as well.

Moreno is an important part of the offense and he is hitting free agency at the perfect time, as he rushed for a career high 1,038 rushing yards, while also adding 548 receiving and 13 touchdowns and he will be a premier option on the market. According to ESPN.com, the Colts have emerged as a possible destination for Decker, as they know Reggie Wayne will only be around for so long. The team already has a solid young core led by TY Hilton, but adding someone like Decker for Andrew Luck could be huge.

Decker likely will be looking to get paid like a number one receiver, but in most systems he is a two or three, but the Colts could take a chance and sign him for a reasonable price as long as he isn't asking for the farm. Decker had some of the most impressive stats of any of the players hitting free agency, putting up more yards and touchdowns than Jeremy Maclin, Julian Edelman, Hakeem Nicks and Anquan Boldin and that could translate into a nice deal.

The Indianapolis Colts, New England Patriots, Carolina Panthers, Dallas Cowboys, Green Bay Packers and Giants all could be in the mix, as the G-Men are losing Hakeem Nicks and could use Decker as a replacement. The Cowboys need an upgrade over Miles Austin, while the Pacers are likely losing James Jones in free agency.
