NY Giants Rumors: Jon Beason, Linval Joseph Franchise Options As Justin Tuck, Andre Brown, Rashad Jennings, Ben Tate, James Jones Free Agent Targets?

The NY Giants are heading into a very important offseason in 2014 and with Jon Beason and Linval Joseph hitting free agency along with Justin Tuck and Andre Brown, the team could target names like Ben Tate, Rashad Jennings, James Jones or Jared Allen on the market.

The Giants had issues on both sides of the ball last season and this year the offense is looking like it will be getting a huge makeover, as the team brought in Ben McAdoo as the new offensive coordinator and is hoping for a huge rebound from Eli Manning. The Giants main free agents are Jon Beason and Linval Joseph and those are two very important players to hang onto for the G-Men, while Justin Tuck and Hakeem Nicks are allowed to test free agency and there is a good chance they will both leave, while Andre Brown is another big name to keep an eye on.

According to ESPN.com, the Giants could use their franchise tag on either Joseph or Beason, but the team is open to not using the tag as well. General manager Jerry Reese has a number of decisions to make, including whether to bring back Tuck despite his age and how much he should chase Nicks when he hits the market after the past two seasons he has had. The Giants have Damontre Moore after drafting him last season and if Tuck gets too many offers on the market, there is a good chance that he will be leaving.

Beason was acquired for a seventh round pick last season and he was an integral part of the defense as it improved heading into the back stretch of the season and Reese has expressed interest in signing him back for next season. The Giants may be active on the market after the salary cap rose heading into this offseason, as Donald Brown and Rashad Jennings could be running back options along with Ben Tate, as the team ranked in the bottom part of the league in rushing last season. The team is dealing with a serious injury from David Wilson and to get past that, the team could look to Tate or Jennings, as they are in line to become starters after the seasons they had last year.
