The Brooklyn Nets and the Chicago Bulls are looking like two of the hotter teams in the NBA right now. The Brooklyn Nets are fresh off a long west coast road that saw them winning their last two games, while the Chicago Bulls are fresh off dominating the New York Knicks and in season of their fifth-straight win as they head to the Barclays Center, a place where the Nets have been dominating recently.
Brooklyn routed the Denver Nuggets on Thursday before following that up with a win over the Milwaukee Bucks. Their trade for Marcus Thornton appeared to pay off. The guard put up 25 points off the bench as Kevin Garnett sat out because of back spasms. This was just Thornton's third game with the Nets since getting traded by the Sacramento Kings, but the veteran has appeared impressive so far. Brooklyn is looking to .500 with a win over Chicago which would put them at nine victories in their past 13 games.
Chicago is soaring right now having won nine of their last 10 games. They have also gotten four wins in their last five road games which could serve them well against Brooklyn, a team they have beaten twice on the road. Back on Feb. 13, the two played each other at the Barclays Center with Chicago getting the win. Now the team has scored 100 or more points in the last four games and looking better than ever.
Joakim Noah continues his run as team MVP. He recorded his fifth career triple-double against the Knicks which included a franchise-record, 14 assists. DJ Augustin added 23 points off the bench while Jimmer Fredette got his first action in a Chicago uniform.
The Nets and the Bulls have certainly provided some heated matchups in the past. The two teams met last year in the playoffs, a series that included a triple-overtime win by Chicago.
