MLB Opening Day Schedule 2014: Baseball Season Starts March 30 With Dodgers and Padres ESPN Game

The MLB Opening Day schedule in 2014 starts up on Sunday night Match 30 with the Los Angeles Dodgers and San Diego Padres and on Monday, March 31, the rest of the league will play to start off the regular season and that first night game will be on ESPN and follows the start of the year in Australia the week before.

The actual regular season will start when the Los Angeles Dodgers and Arizona Diamondbacks play two games in Australia and that will be on Saturday, March 22 to officially start the season, while Opening Day for the rest of the league will be playing on March 31 and April 1 to start their schedules. The first game of the season in America will start up at 8 pm ET and has full coverage for ESPN on Sunday Night Baseball and it also will be on ESPN Radio and streaming on WatchESPN.

Opening Day will also be televised by ESPN and there will be a number of games on the schedule, including on Monday at 1 pm, the Chicago Cubs at Pittsburgh Pirates and this comes after the Pirates made the playoffs for the first time in two decades. The first day has a number of divisional rivalries and the Boston Red Sox at Baltimore Orioles comes after the Cubs game and features the World Series champions as they start their quest for the next championship.

The team they beat in the Cardinals will be at the Cincinnati Reds and after that comes the Colorado Rockies at Miami Marlins and the final ESPN game on Monday will be the Seattle Mariners at Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim and that is a very anticipated game. The Mariners are coming into the season with high expectations after signing Robinson Cano and this will be the first chance for fans to get to see him in action in an M's uniform.

The Yankees come into the season with huge expectations after spending half a billion dollars in the offseason and they open up with the Houston Astros on the road and that will be on the Tuesday following Opening Day. The team brought in Masahiro Tanaka, Jacoby Ellsbury, Carlos Beltran and Brian McCann and the Yanks now are looking to knock off the Red Sox as World Series champs and they feel that they have the talent to do it.
