The Philadelphia 76ers and New York Knicks are playing live on Monday night and the NBA game comes streaming from MSG starting up at 7:30 pm ET and the matchup gives NY a chance to keep their winning going against one of the worst in the league and Carmelo Anthony gets the nod as all the speculation with Phil Jackson keeps coming.
The Knicks come into the game after a nice road win against the Cleveland Cavaliers and that saw Anthony score 26 points and Amare Stoudemire snagged 12 rebounds and now the team plays at home against the Sixers before playing against the Boston Celtics on the road. Every win now and ever game is important for the Knicks, as they are trying to make the playoffs for the third straight season and it would be a huge disappointment if they missed out after what happened last year.
The team won over 50 games and the division last season and now they have been a mess and they only have nine more wins than the Sixers and that is very bad for this team in this conference. The team comes in scoring just under 100 points per game and they are allowing just a bit more than that and the Knicks have not been an efficient team all season, but with a strong finish at the end, they can make everyone forget everything that has happened./
The team is now talking to Phil Jackson to take over and after all the losses and poor play and Raymond Felton gun incidents, the team would be thrilled to have something positive to talk about and bringing in the Zen Master would do just that. The Knicks have wanted Jackson for years and while he has not made a decision yet, there is a chance he could say yes to the front office job and possibly a head coaching job and that would out Mike Woodson out but it would make the fans and the team likely very energetic.
The Sixers comes into the gamer after a terrible loss against a bad team in the Jazz and now they face the Knicks before continuing their NBA worst teams tour against the Sacramento Kings. The team is rated better than the Knicks in everything but defense by points allowed and they are better in scoring per game, rebounds and assists per game as well. Michael Carter-Williams has been the saving grace for the team and he has shown that he is an NBA ready player that could lead the Sixers into their next generation.
