Philadelphia Eagles Rumors: DeSean Jackson Trade For Darrelle Revis An Option As DeMarcus Ware and LaMarr Woodley Free Agent Targets

The Philadelphia Eagles are heading into the offseason with some major moves to make and a trade of DeSean Jackson with Darrelle Revis and the Buccaneers could be possible, while DeMarcus Ware and LaMarr Woodley are prime targets in free agency for Chip Kelly now that those players have been released by their teams.

The Eagles ranked last in the league in passing yards allowed per game last season with nearly 300 yards per contest and after signing Malcolm Jenkins to play safety, the team could continue in the secondary with a Darrelle Revis move. Revis is in the process of getting shopped by the Bucs, according to ESPN.com and the Eagles could jump to snag him and the recent DeSean Jackson trade rumors could play into that as well.

According to Pro Football Talk, the Eagles have been shopping Jackson around to see what they could get for him and while a deal does not appear to be going down anytime soon, it could come into play if the team wants to snag Revis. The Eagles were mentioned as a team that could go after Revis if he gets released, but right now the Buccaneers are working hard to trade him and if that doesn't work out, he could be cut this week.

ESPN.com is reporting also that the Eagles could be interested in Ware and Woodley now that both have been released by their respective teams. The Dallas Cowboys made the call on Tuesday and now Ware is on the market and that gave Dallas $7.4 million in cap space and could give the Eagles the pass rush they need. The Miami Dolphins were shopping Dion Jordan and the Eagles were mentioned as a possibility and now Ware could step into that role for the team. The Eagles gave up over 100 yards per game on the ground and 289 yards per game in the air and adding a pass rusher can help on both those counts.

Getting Ware or Woodley could shore up the pass rush and that helps the corners, as quarterbacks will not be able to get comfortable behind the line of scrimmage and that could be a huge boost for the secondary. Ware was very productive during his time in Dallas and he was a multiple Pro Bowl player and he ended up with over 100 sacks during his stretch with the team. The 32 year old is getting attention from the Denver Broncos as well and they appear to be going on a spending spree, bringing in TJ Ward and

The Eagles already brought back Jeremy Maclin and Riley Cooper, center Jason Kelce along with Jason Peters and now they could add Ware or Woodley as the offseason moves along. Adding Jenkins will help the secondary greatly and a possible trade of Jackson could be coming as well. The team has over a quarter of their cap money going to wide receivers and with both Cooper and Maclin coming back, Jackson could be the one to move out and this comes as he has had attitudfe issues in the past as well and that could be why Kelly makes the move with GM Howie Roseman.
