The Arizona Wildcats and the Utah Utes are playing live on Thursday in the Pac-12 conference tournament and the matchup comes from the MGM Grand in Las Vegas at 3 pm and is streaming from the Pac-12 Network online with a live stream and has the Cats as the fourth ranked team in the nation coming into the quarterfinals.
The Arizona Wildcats have been one of the most consistent teams in the nation this season and they are 15-3 on the year in the conference and have went 28-3 overall and they have a tough matchup with a Utah team that is 21-10 on the season. The Wildcats come in after a loss against Oregon on the road to finish off the season and that saw leader Aaron Gordon score 21 points and add eight rebounds and he will be a prime focus for the team as they play on Thursday. Gordon comes in after winning freshman of the year honors and now he gets the chance to show Utah why.
The team is scoring over 70 points per game and they are ranked 23rd in rebounding and they have been very consistent on both ends of the floor and now they have a chance to get a guaranteed spot in the tournament and a number one seed could be in the mix since Villanova lost in the Big East tournament. The team is ranked seventh in the nation in defense and they are allowing less than 60 points per game and that will be the key for the team against Utah and they come in having won five of the past six games, including five in a row before losing the finale against Oregon.
Nick Johnson has also played very well and he was the Pac-12 player of the year and he comes in after leading the team in scoring with 16 points per game and Gordon has been right behind him with 12. Gordon is the rebounding leader on the team and Johnson is second in assists as the team tries to make a run to the national championship. The team averages over four blocks per game and that will be big and they come in as champs in the conference in the regular season and they are the only ranked team ahead of UCLA and Oregon.
