Aston Villa and Stoke City are playing on the English Premier League schedule on Sunday and the match comes streaming from Villa Park at 12 pm noon on the NBC Sports Live Extra website and comes after the Tottenham and Southampton match from earlier on the day.
Chelsea remains in first place on the Premier League schedule and Aston Villa now has a stretch of two home matches in the next three games and that could give them a chance for some solid play ahead. The team comes into the day after a strong 1-0 win against the Blues in their last Premier League match and that was at Villa Park and now they matchup with Stoke before an away game against Manchester United at Old Trafford. The team has won two straight matches in the EPL since losing to Newcastle, winning 4-1 against Norwich before the victory against the Blues.
Aston Villa has the chance to play spoiler for some clubs at the end of the season on the schedule, as they play against Man U before a matchup at home against Southampton and they travel to the Etihad Stadium to play against Manchester City before their final matchup against Tottenham at White Hart Lane. Peter Crouch has been leading Stoke City in scoring and assists this season and he will need to play well on Sunday and he will be a focus for Aston Villa in the game. Villas has 34 points this season and nine wins and Fabian Delph come in playing well after scoring the goal against Chelsea to win that match and it would be the third straight win at home and that comes for the first time in over five years of they do it.
Stoke is a team where it could happen, as they have only won one time on the road this season in 15 tries and while this will be a different matchup from Chelsea, the team is not giving anything for granted. Ryan Bertrand is back after being out against Chelsea and for the other side, Robert Huth along with Charlie Adam and Jon Walters will be out for the matchup. Stoke comes in after a win at home against West Ham United and they will play against Hull City at home before a matchup on the road against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. The team also plays against Tottenham and Fulham before finishing the season against West Brom on the road.
Chelsea won the early match on the day with Arsenal after scoring six goals and Liverpool has that many as well in their away win against Cardiff City. Everton won against Swansea City, while West Ham lost to Manchester United and that was big with two goals from Wayne Rooney.
