The Seattle Sounders and Montreal Impact are playing live on the MLS Soccer schedule on Sunday and the matchup starts at 4 pm ET and comes from Olympic Stadium and the matchup is the last game of the weekend after the Red Bulls face off with Chicago and the match is streaming online from the NBC Sports Live extra website.
Seattle comes into the match after an opening win against Kansas City and that came after a late goal in that match at home to take down the defending champions, while the team lost to Toronto in their second game and now they hit the road for the first time before a return home and that match will be against Columbus. The team then plays three on the road and that will be against their rivals in the Portland Timbers at Jeld-Wen Field before matchups with Dallas and Chivas USA and then the team will return home for the next three games and they will be at CenturyLink Field.
Clint Dempsey will be out for the match and this comes as he has a two game ban in the MLS for a hit against Toronto and Jurgen Klinsmann said he was very disappointed in that decision, as Dempsey needs to stay in shape for the upcoming World Cup and the US has one of the most difficult schedules in the tournament coming up and a crazy travel schedule as well. Dempsey was hit with the ban and his coach said that it was not right as he has been the most fouled player in the MLS and Klinsmann criticized the fact that there was a lot going on in that game and Dempsey only reacted to it and now he will be out and he also added that the league has not done a good enough job keeping top players from getting targeted.
Dempsey will be out for the game against Montreal and then against Columbus and adding even more to it means that he will be without any action heading into the April 5 matchup against Mexico and that is the last chance for the US team to get action before the World Cup and that is a big hit for the national team. The Sounders had a solid season last year and now Montreal comes in after two losses to Dallas and Houston and now they matchup with Seattle before a game against Philly. Houston is tops on the league table so far this season with Columbus and Toronto, while a number of teams are without wins in the east, including Montreal, NY and New England.
