NBA Draft Outlook: New Orleans Hornet and Anthony Davis

There are hundreds of basketball players coming fresh out of college that will be looking forward to landing on a professional NBA roster.

With less than two weeks away from the 2012 NBA Draft, teams are closely evaluating their needs.

After winning the number one pick in the 2012 NBA Lottery, the New Orleans Hornets are thought to go after, what appears to be, the best player available.

Anthony Davis won the NCAA National Championship in 2012 with the Kentucky Wildcats. 2012 was a season to remember both for the team and Davis.

When looking at Davis' overall performance this past season, his defensive presence could surely impact the Hornets.

Do not be fooled by the age Davis has on NBA.com, he was not born on 1193 as he is only 19 years old.

In his first and only season as a Wild Cat he averaged 4.7 blocks, 10.4 rebounds, 1.4 steals and 14.2 points per game.

He is still growing and stands at 6' 10."

Last year, the Hornets averaged around 40 rebounds, 5 blocks and 7 steals a game.

These are stats the Davis is a specialist in.

After Chris Paul was traded to the Los Angeles Clippers, the Hornets were left without a face for the franchise.

Without a main player, the fans will not be attracted to a team. Davis could be that player fans come out to see.

Omeka Okafor has not panned out to be the player people expected him to be. Chris Kaman, one of the pieces in the Paul trade, has seen his performance decline steadily season after season.

With no other big man to control the paint in New Orleans, Davis would be expected to jump into the starting lineup immediately.

Eric Gordon will hopefully not get injured and can maybe form a deadly duo with Anthony Davis.
