Richie Incognito Rumors: Oakland Raiders Free Agent Deal Possible As Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys Options?

Richie Incognito is a free agent and the Oakland Raiders are one team that could be open to signing the former Miami Dolphins offensive lineman, as owner Mark Davis said that the team may consider the move, while other clubs like the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings could also be potential fits after his issues last season with Jonathan Martin.

Incognito has been on the free agent mark since the offseason started after his contract came up after the season from the Dolphins and while he expressed an interest in returning, the team did not have any motivation to bring him back after the bad PR of the Jonathan Martin scandal. According to ESPN.com, Davis, channeling his father's glory days perhaps, said that the team could look at signing Incognito and that Reggie McKenzie and head coach Dennis Allen would be the men making that decision.

The Raiders were known in the past at times for having some "bad boys" on the team and while that was back in the day, Incognito could bring that back a bit if he signs with the Raiders. Presumably, after everything that happened last season, Incognito will likely be on his best behavior and the Raiders will have to weigh what he brings to the team as a player with what he brings to the locker room after the situation last season. Many speculated that Incognito would have an easier time finding a job after the season than Martin, since he is "tough", but the players who said that look fairly stupid now, as they did before, as Martin is now with the 49ers after his old coach Jim Harbaugh pulled off a trade for him.

The Raiders had issues on the line last season and had a tough time rushing the ball consistently and after losing Jared Veldheer and signing Austin Howard this offseason, they could look to add Incognito as well. Last season the Dolphins were one of the worst rushing teams in the NFL and they also gave up a league leading 58 sacks and the flux in offensive line was not helped by Martin leaving and Incognito getting suspended and now it appears the Dolphins are fully ready to move on from what happened in 2013.

Davis said that if McKenzie and Allen asked him about signing Incognito he would have to "think about it" and so far that has been the closest he has been to a potential deal this offseason. The Dolphins are not bringing him back and other teams like the Chicago Bears, Seattle Seahawks, Cleveland Browns, Dallas Cowboys and Minnesota Vikings may not want the distraction of bringing him in after last season. The NY Giants may have been a possibility, but they already signed another bully in John Jerry, who was also named in the Ted Wells report. ESPN.com reported that the team felt comfortable with what they heard from Jerry and his former coaches, which is why Jerry Reese signed off on the deal.
