The Aaron Hernandez murder case has been quiet as the one-year anniversary gets closer and now two associates of the accused former NFL star have been indicted on murder charges, as Carlos Ortiz and Ernest Wallace were charged in the killing of Odin Lloyd, which came after the two previously were charged with being accessories.
According to ESPN.com, a grand jury in Bristol County sent back separate indictments for Wallace and Ortiz on murder charges and this comes after the previous accessory to murder charges and $500,000 bail for that. The two are both from Bristol and are associated with Hernandez and Ortiz's lawyer said that he was only there "for the ride" and had nothing to do with the number. The report says that he also claimed that since the government could not use him as a witness, they charged him and that is why it happened and now because he was involved in the murder.
Ortiz likely would not make a great witness anyway because of his past, while Wallace has been called the right hand man for Hernandez. Lloyd's body was found last year near the home Hernandez shared with his girlfriend Shayanna Jenkins and Lloyd was connected to Hernandez through Jenkins, as he was dating his sister.
