The Boston Red Sox and Chicago White Sox are playing live on the MLB schedule at U.S. Cellular Field on Tuesday and the game starts up at 8:10 pm ET and has Jake Peavy on the mound for the Sawx and the matchup is streaming from the MLB.com website.
Erik Johnson will be up against Peavy on Tuesday and he has had a rough start to the season, allowing four runs in his last start against the Rockies and now he will be up against a Red Sox team he has never faced before in his career. The Red Sox have been dominating the White Sox over the past few years and they are winners of all but four games in the last 16 against Chicago and now they have the chance to continue that in the series this week.
Adam Dunn has been heating up for the White Sox and he needs to be on for Chicago to win this season, but he has poor stats against Peavy and he will try to overcome that on Tuesday night. Chicago has been laying very well on offense to start the season and they are 7-6 overall and second in the AL central this year and they come into the game after a win against the Cleveland Indians. The division matchup was a tough one and the central should be hard to win this season, as the White Sox appear improved, while the Royals finished with a winning record last year and both the Indians and Tigers made it into the playoffs.
The White Sox come into the game ranking first in the league in runs and on base percentage and they are second in batting average and third in slugging percentage. The team is high up in ERA with a near 5.50 ERA right now and they are eighth in quality starts, but the bullpen needs to pick things up. The team continues the series with the Red Sox on Wednesday and that pitching matchup has Clay Buchholz and John Danks against each other.
The Red Sox come into the game after a loss to the Yankees and that saw Ivan Nova beat Boston and Shawn Kelly finished with the save for his third of the season. The team is 24th in runs and 11th i batting average and they are 10th in on base and 22nd in slugging percentage.
