Detroit Lions Rumors: Marqise Lee, Sammy Watkins Request Draft, Jadeveon Clowney Target in Trade as Aaron Murray, AJ McCarron Options for Matthew Stafford Backup

The Detroit Lions are rumored to be very interested in drafting a wide receiver this year. So interested that they are currently exploring ways to trade up and get the best available. Despite already having Calvin Johnson and the newly signed Golden Tate on the roster, the Lions are favoring playmakers like Sammy Watkins or Marqise Lee, both of which have requested Detroit make every move to get them.

Every wide receiver wants to team up with gun slinger Matthew Stafford. Despite Reggie Bush in the backfield, the Lions have focused more on the passing game, allowing players like Johnson to develop into one of the best in the game. Now, Lee and Watkins want to be the next to benefit from the quarterback's big arm. Detroit brought Lee in for a visit and he hopes they were impressed.

"Think I did pretty well, left a good impression, so hopefully, at the end of the day, I end up going there. If not, wherever I end up," Lee said, via Detroit Free Press. "Honestly, to tell you the truth, I'm going to be happy wherever I go down. If it's 10, it's 10. If it's 29, it's 29. It doesn't matter to me, as long as I get the opportunity to actually go out there and play."

Lee could be drafted much higher than expected if the Detroit Lions like what they see. The Free Press is reporting that Detroit is a likely candidate to make a trade up from No. 10. They could easily be working a deal with either the St. Louis Rams or Atlanta Falcons in order to draft their favorite receiver. While Lee hopes he is the best, Watkins is thinking the same thing.

"It'd be definitely a blessing playing with Megatron [Calvin Johnson] and Golden Tate, having Reggie Bush and Matthew Stafford," Watkins said, via Detroit Free Press. "They're doing a great job with the program with all the coaches. If I ever go there, sky's the limit."

The Lions have now worked out both quarterbacks while also taking a look as defensive stars like Jadeveon Clowney. All signs point to a trade up, it just remains to be seen what side of the ball they target with the deal.
