The NBA playoff standings has the Miami Heat, Portland Trail Blazers, San Antonio Spurs and Washington Wizards up 1-0 in their series after Sunday over the Charlotte Bobcats, Houston Rockets, Dallas Mavericks and Chicago Bulls and on Monday night the Oklahoma City Thunder and Golden State Warriors will go for 2-0 series leads on Monday night when the schedule picks up again.
The games on Sunday were very entertaining and the game between the Trail Blazers and the Rockets went into overtime and saw Portland win out when it was all done after a tough matchup. LaMarcus Aldridge fouled out eventually, but he had 46 points and 18 rebounds, while James Harden and Dwight Howard each had 27 for the Rockets. The Bulls played tough but they lost at home against the Wizards, while the Indiana Pacers lost on Saturday and they will be looking to rebound after going down 1-0 against the Hawks and a bunch of the road teams won over the weekend and that could really shake up the postseason.
The Mavericks played the San Antonio Spurs tight, but Dallas couldn't hold on for their lead and ended up losing to the Spurs after being up by double digits and the big 3 of Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and Tony Parker came through for the home team. The Spurs were the best team in the NBA and Game 1 went their way and Duncan led the way with 27 points and Tiago Splitter had 11 rebounds to lead the team while Tony Parker had six assists. The Mavericks played very well and they ended up taking a lead into halftime but they couldn't hold on and Devin Harris ended up with 19 points and five assists.
The Miami Heat won over the Charlotte Bobcats and that was closer than many expected, but the defending champions pulled away at the end and LeBron James led the way with 27 points and looked strong in the first game as they took a 1-0 lead. Chris Andersen led in rebounding, while Dwyane Wade had five points and he looked good after resting at the end of the season. Kemba Walker led the way for the Bobcats and he had 20 points and six assists and Al Jefferson led the way with 10 rebounds in the loss.
The Wizards won away at the Bulls and that was a surprise for many and now they have a 1-0 lead in the series and that could end with an upset. The Brooklyn Nets won the previous day over the Toronto Raptors and they have a 1-0 lead in their series as well, while the Oklahoma City Thunder won over the Memphis Grizzlies and the Golden State Warriors won over the Los Angeles Clippers at the Staples Center.
