David Moyes has been under fire all year and now the Manchester United manager could be sacked ahead of the finish of the English Premier League season, as the Red Devils suffered another defeat against Everton over the weekend 2-0 at Goodison Park and rumors say Ryan Giggs could take over if the EPL season schedule is not yet finished when Moyes is let go.
Moyes had a tough road taking over for Sir Alex Ferguson, but no one predicted the struggles that Manchester United would have this year, as they have put together their worst season in EPL play and they have lost 11 of 34 games this season and right now they are at seventh in the league standings. The team had moves up to sixth and fifth at various points during the season, but in the late stages they could not get even close to the top four and now they will miss Champions League qualification as well.
The Red Devils are six points back of Tottenham in the standings and they are also behind Everton after the loss on Sunday and they have had a number of disappointing losses at Old Trafford as well. According to ESPN FC and other publications, Moyes could be sacked before the end of the season, as the team has four more EPL matches left, including the next three at home and that could be one reason why. The fans have been restless as have the Glazers and with Norwich, Sunderland and Hull City all coming in before the team finishes at Southampton, that could be an option.
The reports say that Giggs could take over the team affairs heading into the final stretch of the season and one reason all this is coming up is that Man U is wondering whether Moyes should stay at the top as they get ready to invest over 100 million in the team this summer. Moyes lost to his former Everton team and he signed a six year deal over the summer and now he could be done and the rumors really started when the team lost in the FA Cup. That was a stunning defeat and the earliest for the team in many years and now they are looking to get things together before the season comes to a close.
Moyes said that he wants Danny Welbeck to stay with the team, but he may not be there to try and keep him. According to ESPN FC, there is a chance Welbeck may want to leave and with Wayne Rooney getting older, the team is looking to make moves ahead of the summer to set Man U up for next year after the rough season here. The team lost out in the UCL and they will not qualify for the tournament next year.
