Dolphins NFL Draft Rumors: Miami Will Regret Passing On Johnny Manziel For Ryan Tannehill? Texas A&M QB Likely Starter For Browns

The Miami Dolphins have a Texas A&M quarterback they like already in Ryan Tannehill and after drafting him a couple years ago, the team and general manager Dennis Hickey have no regrets about passing up on Johnny Manziel, but if he turns out to be a superstar and Tannehill never develops, will the Dolphins regret passing up on that draft pick?

The answer to that question is obviously unknown now, but having Manziel and Tannehill playing at the same time in the league will answer that quickly and Manziel may get his chance with the Browns starting in week 1. The Dolphins picked Ja'Wuan James at number 19 with Manziel still on the board and while it's not a sexy pick, it's one that the Dolphins needed, as their offensive line was a total mess.

Tannehill has not become a superstar or even like Andrew Luck yet, but part of his stunted development was the 58 sacks the team gave up last season and now James will help fix up the terrible offensive line from last year. Mike Pouncey already made a stupid comment about the new rookie lineman and the Dolphins better be careful about how they handle that. Manziel is actually lucky he isn't in that horrible locker room with Joe Philbin, but that's another story. Manziel now will likely get the chance to start and while Hickey said the team likes their pick, the Dolphins have not been able to replace Dan Marino and if Tannehill is not the guy, well.....yeah.

Tannehill has gone 15-17 over the past two seasons and while the Dolphins have not been built like a playoff team, he has not yet taken that next step as a QB. Tannehill might do it this year, but with Manziel out there for the taking, the Dolphins may regret this one if he turns out to be a superstar like some believe he will aka Jon Gruden especially.
