NHL Playoffs Standings and Schedule: NY Rangers and Penguins Play Game 7 For 4-3 Series Win Tuesday

The NHL playoffs standings for the NY Rangers and Pittsburgh Penguins has Game 7 on the schedule for the Tuesday and the series is tied 3-3 and that means Sidney Crosby and Martin St. Louis will be looking to get their teams into the eastern conference finals with a 4-3 series win and there is plenty of history on both sides after New York took Game 6 at Madison Square Garden.

Game 7 will be in Pittsburgh and the game starts up at 7 pm ET and will be on the NBC Sports Network and streaming online and the matchup is the last chance for both teams to advance. The Rangers have played in a ton of Game 7 matchups over the past three years and they are 4-1 in their last five Game 7s and that includes winning four in a row. Henrik Lundqvist has performed well in these situations and he has gone 9-2 in his career and now he will get the chance to put the team through again and it comes after a fantastic performance in Game 6, as he kept his team in the game with a number of great saves.

St. Louis has had to deal with the death of his mother and that came before the team played in Game 6 and he was able to get a goal in on Sunday and now the Rangers have some momentum coming in. The Penguins have lost their last two game 7 matchups at home and they have all the pressure after being up 3-1 in the series and that means the Rangers have the chance to pull the upset. The game could be decided by who scores the first goal, as all six previous games have been won by the team that has scored first in the matchup.

The Rangers were terrible in the middle of the series and could not find the net and now they have scored in bunches over the past couple games and they have the chance to win a series after coming back from 3-1 for the first time ever. The team has done a good job with Sidney Crosby and now he has just one goal in the past 12 games and the Rangers have worked to put him off his game along with Evgeni Malkin. The Penguins know that the odds are in their favor, but they have lost the last two Game 7 matchups they have had at home with the Lightning and the Canadiens and that will be in the building on Tuesday night.

The Boston Bruins and Montreal Canadiens are also playing a Game 7 matchup and that comes after Montreal was able to force it after winning Game 6 on Monday night. The team won in dominating fashion and now both east series are tied 3-3 with Game 7 matchups coming.
