Jeremy Lin Signs New Rep, New York Knicks Discuss Jason Kidd and Steve Nash

As Jeremy Lin's free agent situation still is undecided, the New York Knick player has swapped agents. He recently became a client of Jim Tanner of Williams & Connolly, a Washington-based agency.

Lin's old representative, Roger Montgomery, will still work in conjunction with the new agency.

Tanner will begin assisting Lin in his contract situation in New York. The Knicks had a hearing over a week ago to see if Lin fell within the Bird Rules, which would allow the team to retain the Harvard graduate for less money, allowing them to also sign Steve Novak.

Nothing has been decided yet, but what has been circulating in the NBA news in New York is word of Jason Kidd being interested in being a back-up point guard for either Deron Williams, who plays for the Brooklyn Nets or Jeremy Lin.

Kidd, who was in the Michael Kay Show yesterday said, "I just want to help a team win. That's what I want to do."

Kidd has played 18 years in the NBA and will turn 40-years young next season. He gave the Dallas Mavericks close to 30 minutes a game, averaging 6 points and over 5 assists off the bench.

Another point guard's name that has been circulating in relation to the Knicks is 2-time MVP, Steve Nash.

The interesting aspect of discussing Nash is that he will not be coming off the bench.

If the Knicks land the 38-year old point guard, does that automatically give Lin the boot?

Nash, who just played his 16th season, says he feels great. He recently said he would be interested in playing for the Knicks.

"The Knicks are a great franchise and I live in New York City (each summer), so I'd definitely consider them if they were interested."

What makes Nash captivating is the fact that he played with Amar'e Stoudemire back when both players shared the court in Phoenix.

Adding Nash would help bring back the old Stoudemire, who struggled mightily this season.

It will be curious to see which of the three point guards straps their laces in Madison Square Garden and wears the blue and orange.

Knicks hope that they could at least retain Linsanity, as the young star looks ready to have another outbreak season.
