Aaron Hernandez is coming back to court and his girlfriend and fiance Shayanna Jenkins is worried about the indictment and arraignment on double murder charges before the trial in the Odin Lloyd killing and there is a chance she will be in court with their baby daughter Avielle Janelle and also that Hernandez's mother Terri Hernandez will be in the courtroom next week when he is arraigned for the double murder stemming from an incident in July 2012.
Hernandez was indicted on double murder charges stemming from an incident that was once unsolved with no suspects after two men, Daniel de Abreu and Safiro Furtado, were killed in a drive by shooting in the summer of 2012. Police and investigators announced last week that Hernandez was being charged with first degree murder in the deaths of the two men and now that is in addition to the first degree murder charges he is facing in the death of Odin Lloyd.
Hernandez's fiance Shayanna Jenkins was charged with a count of perjury in the Lloyd case after prosecutors said she lied in testimony to the grand jury, as she was present in the home with Hernandez on the night that the murder occurred, although she claimed to know nothing about it. Police asked her questions about a bag she allegedly took from the home the morning after Lloyd was killed. The murder weapon has never been found in the case and the authorities also looked into a storage container traced back to Jenkins.
Hernandez is now facing three counts of first degree murder and this comes after he was arrested last summer for the shooting death of Odin Lloyd. Hernandez has been held without bail and he could face life in prison if convicted on the first murder charge and now he will be tried in a separate murder trial regarding the drive by shooting. The defense came out and released a statement that Hernandez's guilt in the case will be tried in court and that a press conference is not a trial and they expect to enter a not guilty plea for the murder charges.
Jenkins is dealing with her own issues and now Hernandez has another two murders linked to his name and he will face a separate trial after the Lloyd case is resolved, which could be some time from now since a trial date has not been set. Hernandez has been linked to the Lloyd crime in what his lawyers call circumstantial evidence, while this double murder connection was found after Hernandez was arrested. The crime was said to have come after a random encounter between Hernandez and a group that included the two men and culminated in a drive by shooting.
Hernandez is connected to this crime by various pieces of evidence mentioned by police, including an SUV found in his uncle's home that was allegedly used in the drive by, as well as a gun that was recovered in a separate incident and was connected back to the crime. Hernandez faces life in prison for the crimes and will now face another trial.
