The Indiana Pacers lost Game 2 of the eastern conference finals to the Miami Heat and now the series is tied 1-1 and Paul George could miss the next game, as his status is in question for Game 3 on Saturday in South Florida, as he was hit in the head and suffered a concussion after a collision with Dwyane Wade and losing him would be very tough for Indy heading into the matchup.
George stayed in the game after getting hit despite blacking out and he did not have a great shooting night and that was one reason the Pacers lost. According to ESPN.com, George initially did not show any signs of a concussion but they came up later after he was hit in the fourth quarter. George said that he blacked out and had some blurred vision and now he will need to follow the NBA protocol to come back from a concussion.
George has been playing well for the Pacers in the playoffs and now he could miss Game 3 if he doesn't pass all the concussion tests. The protocol for the NBA includes a number of steps, including non-contact work and other workouts while not showing any signs of the concussion. George had 14 points in the game and struggled from the field and that came after he had 24 points in the first game that Indiana won and now his status is up in the air.
Wade and LeBron James took over Game 2 in the fourth quarter to tie the series and now Miami has home court advantage in the series until they lose another game. James and Wade now have the chance to take things to another level in Miami, as they can go up 3-1 with wins at home in the next two games. The team could put a hold on the Pacers by going up 3-1, as that is a very tough deficit to come back from.
