NY Giants Rumors: Eli Manning Practicing As Jason Pierre-Paul Ready For 2014 Season, David Wilson Waits For MRI

The New York Giants are in OTA workouts for 2014 and the good news has Eli Manning back practicing after offseason ankle surgery, while defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul was also active as he looks to have a comeback season and as that was getting going on the practice field, injured running back David Wilson is eagerly awaiting results of an MRI about his neck on the sidelines.

The Giants are coming into the season with a new offensive coordinator after a rough 2013 campaign that saw the team start 0-6 on the year and now they are hoping Manning can come back soon to get started working. The team has Ben McAdoo implementing a new offense and the team signed more free agents than anyone else, so getting chemistry down will be important as well. Manning needed an ankle procedure earlier in the offseason and he is already ahead of schedule and he could get back to full workouts by the time training camp starts.

The Giants lost a number of players on offense and they drafted Odell Beckham to help replace Hakeem Nicks and they also signed Rashad Jennings to help the rushing attack. Wilson is still dealing with his neck injury from last season and while he said he feels great, he needs to wait for an MRI to see if he can get cleared and the Giants know that he could be on the sidelines for a long time. The team is coming to grips with the fact that Wilson will likely be a wasted draft pick from a few years ago and they drafted Andre Williams to help mitigate that loss and he could be very active this season if Wilson is out.

The Giants are hoping that Pierre-Paul can return to the form he had a couple years ago when the team won the Super Bowl, as he had an up and down season in 2013. JPP can be a major force for the team and he said that he is feeling much better now than he did last year and that he is back fully healthy after dealing with some nagging injuries the past two years. Pierre-Paul is going to be a free agent after this season and after having 16.5 sacks two years ago and just 8.5 over the past two seasons combined, he sounds ready for a breakout year once again.

The Giants have a number of issues on both sides of the ball, but they improved the offensive line with Weston Richburg in the draft and Geoff Schwartz in free agency and they also added at cornerback. Bringing in Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and Walter Thurmond will help bring back the secondary and the Giants need to bounce back in 2014.
