NHL Playoffs Standings 2014: Chicago Blackhawks Win Over LA Kings to Force Game 7 Patrick Kane Scores Winning Goal

The Chicago Blackhawks won over the LA Kings by the score 4-3 to force Game 7 in the western conference finals after some great saves at the end from Corey Crawford and now Los Angeles has to travel for the elimination game with the series 3-3 and Patrick Kane had the winning goal in the third period and now the Hawks have life and can advance to the Stanley Cup finals with a win on Sunday and if they win they will face the Rangers.

Patrick Kane scored his second goal of the game in the third period with just under four minutes left and that was a huge goal after the Kings previously pulled ahead with two goals from Drew Doughty. Duncan Keith scored the big goal for the Blackhawks to tie things up and that came after a goal from Doughty and Alec Martinez and that put the Blackhawks in position to win the game late. The Kings once again took the early lead in the game with a goal in the first before Chicago jumped back with two in the second and the third period was a wild one on both sides as Corey Crawford and Jonathan Quick went back and forth allowing goals.

The Blackhawks came into the game with all the pressure after falling behind 3-1 and one night after the Rangers won over the Montreal Canadiens to avoid a Game 7, the Hawks and LA Kings now will have to play one at the United Center. The Blackhawks play well at home, but the LA Kings have shown that they can win on the road and after coming back from 3-0 in the San Jose series, they are not afraid of anything. Crawford played much better than earlier in the series and he showed why he is a Stanley Cup winning goalie.

The Blackhawks and Kings are the last two Stanley Cup champions and now they will battle in Game 7 for the chance to play the Rangers and the series will be in Chicago or Los Angeles on Wednesday. Corey Crawford made some great saves and now Chicago is hosting Game 7.

The Rangers advanced on Thursday night after dominating Game 6 and winning 1-0 over the Montreal Canadiens and now they are into the finals for the first time in two decades. The Rangers got one goal from Dominic Moore and that was all they needed and that came late in the second period after a great feed from Brian Boyle from behind the net. Moore missed all last season after his wife died in 2013 after a battle from liver cancer and he now is a hero for the Rangers and the team is looking for their first championship since 1994 when Mark Messier helped win it.
