Cristiano Ronaldo Portugal Rumors: Star Expected To Return Against Ireland As Brazil World Cup Draw Starts With Germany Match

Cristiano Ronaldo is back in training and could appear Tuesday night against Ireland in the last World Cup friendly for Portugal before the Brazil 2014 tournament starts and the team has a tough schedule coming up with Germany on Monday along with the United States and later Ghana in the Group G "Group of Death" and things open officially in Sao Paulo on Thursday night.

Ronaldo has been on the mend over the past couple weeks and that could give Portugal a massive boost ahead of the World Cup, as the only chance for the team in this group is if he returns. According to FIFA.com, Ronaldo is back in training and he should return for the match against the Republic of Ireland, which will be at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Portugal will travel to Brazil this week and the national team did not disclose much about his injury in the lead up to the start of the tournament. Ronaldo has been dealing with leg injuries and a tight muscle and he appears to be ready to come back and this comes after Portugal won against Mexico in their last friendly match.

Portugal opens up their schedule on Monday June 16 against Germany.

"Everybody knows the importance of Ronaldo to our team and his importance to the group, both on and off the pitch," said Wolfsburg man Vieirinha to FIFA.
