Wimbledon 2012 Results from Day 3: Novak Djokovic, Federer and Roddick Win, Sharapova Gets Rained Out

Wimbledon champ, Novak Djokovic just finished defeating Ryan Harrison in three sets by the same score, 6-4, 6-4, 6-4.

By the time most Americans got into work Wednesday morning, Roger Federer was on his way to clinching a victory.

He easily breezed by Fabio Fognini in the second round of Wimbledon earlier today by the scores of 6-1, 6-3, 6-2

 American Ryan Sweeting left Wimbledon with a sour taste in his mouth as he was defeated by eighth ranked Jank Tipsarevic, from Serbia. 

Sweeting was defeated in five sets, but not without putting up a fight. The match finished 5-7, 7-5, 6-4, 6-2, in favor of Tipsarevic.

Andy Roddick's match was uninterrupted by rain as he went on to defeat the hometown kid, Jamie Baker in three sets. The draw ended 7(7)-6 (1), 6-4, 7-5 in favor of Roddick. 

Over in the Ladies' singles, there were a few upsets.

The biggest upset of the day was 5th ranked from Austria, Samantha Strosur losing in three sets to Arantxa Rus, 6-2, 6-0, 6-4

Na Li, ranked 11th in Wimbledon, was beaten by 52nd ranked, Sorana Cirstea. Cristea, who hails from Romania, finished Li in two sets by the score of 6-3, 6-4.

Now, Rus will face 30th ranked Shuai Peng in the third round, while the 22-year old Christea will face Maria Kirilinko from Russia.

Maria Sharapova had her match cancelled. She was in the middle of her second set before the match was postpone. Sharapova led the match 7-6, 3-1.

That match will be made up tomorrow as we proceed to the fourth day of Wimbledon.
