United States World Cup Results: USA Draws 2-2 With Portugal After Ronaldo Cross and Clint Dempsey Goal

The United States had a draw 2-2 against Portugal on Sunday night and almost made it into the knockout round from the Arena Amazon in Manaus and the speed at the end of the game for the US was key and now the team has the chance to get in after playing Germany in their final game after getting a point in this game.

Dempsey scored another fantastic goal in the game for the United States and the game opened with Nani scoring a goal after a mistake and the US took until the second half to strike back and that was on a fantastic individual play and shot from Jermaine Jones. The team made a comeback and almost won for the first time in 20 tries when conceding the first goal and that nearly put the team into the knockout stage and they have played above expectations by many in the group of death. The team now has one more game left against the German side and that will be to see who makes it into the next stage.

The US came into the game after winning against Ghana and they knew that they could lock up a spot in the knockout round with a victory against Portugal and Cristiano Ronaldo. The United States scored two goals in the second half after Nani scored the early goal after the error by Geoff Cameron and that gave the team a stunning 2-1 lead and had Dempsey finding the net for the second straight game.

Michael Bradley had a much better game than he did against Ghana and he made quite the impact on Portugal, as he nearly scored a goal on a wide open net and he made a number of plays on the offensive attack. The end of the game was very intense and Ronaldo had chances towards the final minutes and that created some high drama for both teams. Graham Zusi had a fantastic game and made the smart play to set up Dempsey's chest goal and he went out at the 90th minute for Omar Gonzalez and that set up the final minutes of extra time.
