The Detroit Tigers and Texas Rangers are playing on ESPN2 live on Wednesday night on the MLB schedule for Wed Night Baseball and the game is live from Globe Life Park in Arlington on the WatchESPN website past 8 pm as the two AL teams matchup with a chance to get the second game of the series before the finale on Thursday.
The Tigers have been struggling, but are right there now in the AL Central where they want to be, while the Rangers are now under .500 and are even behind the Mariners in the standings. Anibal Sanchez takes on Joe Saunders in the game and this comes after the Tigers got a nice home run from Ian Kinsler in the previous win against his old team in his old park and and now Detroit has won six straight games and they are back in the lead in the Al Central. The Royals had first place after winning 10 straight games, but the Mariners swept them and the Tigers surged and now they are back in first place.
Sanchez has been on fire lately and has gone 4-0 since the end of April and now he has the chance to continue the misery for the Texas Rangers and they are having a tough season right now. The Tigers are one of the best offensive teams in the league and they have Miguel Cabrera and Victor Martinez playing well and they are looking like one of the best American League teams once again this year. Sanchez has pitched against Texas this season and he allowed two runs and pitched seven innings and he is looking to do the same again.
Kinsler and Prince Fielder were traded for each other during the offseason and right now the Tigers are looking like they got the better end of that deal and they are trying to stay in first place, while Texas is just trying to get back to .500. The team had Colby Lewis on the mound for the loss and in the next game, Rick Porcello will be pitching for the Tigers. The Rangers are 16th in the league in runs and fourth in batting average and the team has not been pitching well, ranked in the bottom of the league in quality starts, WHIP and BAA and they are also 29th in ERA.
The Tigers come into the game as one of the best offensive teams in the league and they are in the top 10 in runs, batting average and also in slugging percentage. The pitching has been up and down this season and they are ranked 22nd in ERA and 11th in quality starts and the team is also 22nd in BAA. The Tigers and Rangers are looking to get the win on Wednesday night and Detroit is going for two of the first two in the series.
