US Olympic Swimming Trials 2012 Results: Day 4, Half Way Through Deciding London Team

We have officially hit the halfway point in the U.S. Olympic Swimming Trials.

Thursday night the U.S. had three Finals taking place in Omaha.

Allison Schmitt broke an American record in the Women's 200M Freestyle after posting a 1:54.40.

She will be accompanied by Missy Franklin in the London. Franklin came 2.39 seconds behind Schmitt.

Michael Phelps proved dominant in the Men's 200M Butterfly after finishing more than a second faster than everybody.

Phelps came in at 1:53.65, while Tyler Clary posted a 1:55.12 to come in second place.

The last Finals of the night was the Women's 200M Individual Medley.

Caitlin Leverenz finished in first place and will be representing the U.S. in London along with Arian Kukors.

In Semi-Finals action, Ryan Lochte seemed to have taken the night off as he came in 5th place overall in the Men's 100M Freestyle.

The Women's 200M Butterfly saw Cammile Adams and Kathleen Hersey qualify for the Finals.

Teresa Crippen, Kim Vandenberg, Kelsey Floyd, Tanya Krisman, Caroline McElhany and Shannon Draves will comment in the Finals tomorrow.

The last event that took place tonight on the 4th Day of the trials was the Men's 200M Breaststroke.

Clark Burckle finished in first and had three swimmers trail him, finishing less than a second before him.

Eric Shanteau finished .13 seconds behind. Brendan Hansen was .44 seconds behind and Scott Weltz was .98 seconds from first place.

Elliot Keefer, Trevor Hoyt, BJ Johnson and Matt Elliott finished a second within each other to qualify for the Finals.

Day 5 of the Finals take place tomorrow.
