The Tampa Bay Rays and Baltimore Orioles are playing on the MLB schedule on Friday for a doubleheader and Game 1 begins at 1:05 pm ET before Game 2 at 7:05 pm ET at Oriole Park at Camden Yards and the matchup in the AL East has TB way behind and the O's closing in on the Toronto Blue Jays in the division and the live coverage is from MLB.com.
The Rays have David Price still pitching lights out and he won 5-1 against the Pirates on Wednesday and now the team comes in at 32-48 and they have Jake Odorizzi pitching the season game of the doubleheader against Christ Tillman. The Rays have been terrible and they could trade Price this season and they come in ranked 27th in runs and their offense has been terrible and they are ranked 26th in slugging and they are in the bottom half of the league in offense.
The team has had to deal with a number of injuries and to get to 90 wins this season they would have to win 60 games the rest of the way and that would be way too much for this team to make up. The Blue Jays are taking control of the division, while the Orioles and Yankees are closing in. The pitching has been mediocre at best apart from Price and they are ranked 19th in ERA this season and 25th in quality starts, although the BAA is in the top 10 for now. The team is now 12.5 games back in the division and it will take a miracle to get them back into contention.
The Orioles come into the game after winning over the White Sox and now they will play two and they have one of the best offenses in the league. The team is ranked 14th in runs, third in batting average and sixth in slugging. The team is second in the division and playing well and they have pitching issues to deal with too, as they are down 20th in Era and 28th in quality starts and the team is also 23rd in WHIP. The O's and the Yankees are battling for the Wild Card in the Al along with the Mariners and Angels and that should be a tough race.
