MLB All-Star Game Rosters 2014: Starters and Reserves For AL and NL As Online Voting Ends

The MLB All-Star game is on July 15 and the AL and NL final rosters for the 2014 event with starters and reserves will be revealed on Sunday and the last day of voting comes on Friday online before the managers pick players to add on and in the American League and National League, players are starting to get ahead, including Miguel Cabrera, Derek Jeter, Robinson Cano, Troy Tulowitzki, Yadier Molina and Andrew McCutchen.

The voting officially ends on Thursday just before midnight and the starters will be revealed in a selection show on ESPN on Sunday night at 7 pm and that can be viewed on TV and on the WatchESPN website. The All-Star game is one of the premier events for baseball and while it's just an exhibition, the event has the home run derby as well as the futures game and it has gotten bigger and bigger with coverage each year and this season it will be in Minnesota at Target Field.

Heading into the final hours of voting, most of the starting positions are locked in, as most players cannot catch up to the leaders no matter what happens. Miguel Cabrera has once again been the leader at his position and he is at first in the American League with over three million votes at first base. José Bautista is getting a big push and he is leading the AL with over 4.4 million votes and that has him ahead of Mike Trout, who also has over four million.

Matt Wieters is done for the year so he will not be starting in the All-Star game despite being the top vote getter at catcher, while Robinson Cano has turned his first season with the Mariners into a fifth straight All-Star appearance. Cano has been having an excellent season despite his HR numbers going down and another Mariners player should get some attention, as Kyle Seager has been on a tear over the past 40 games and while he will not catch Josh Donaldson, who is leading 3B in the AL, he should be selected to the team.

Felix Hernandez should be the All-Star starter and if he isn't, John Farrell is full of it. Hernandez is having his best season in his career and while Masahiro Tanaka has been great, he's been in the MLB for five minutes and while he has one more win than Felix, nearly every other number is in favor of the M's starter.

The National League has Troy Tulowitzki leading all players with votes and behind him are names like Carlos Gomez, Yasiel Puig, Yadier Molina and Andrew McCutchen. Clayton Kershaw has once again been fantastic and this is shaping up to be a great All-Star game.
