Brazil Wins Over Colombia In World Cup Quarters For Germany Semifinals Matchup As Neymar Injured

Brazil pulled out a 2-0 win against Colombia in the World Cup quarterfinals on Friday to advance to play against Germany after Thiago Silva and David Luiz scored for the host nation and while they are now set to move into the next round as one of the last four teams, Neymar likely will not play after suffering a back injury.

James Rodriguez scored a goal, his sixth of the tournament, in the 84th minute to get Colombia closer and they could not complete the comeback, but he showed the world how good he is. Rodriguez has been the main reason why Colombia is in this position and David Luiz and the crowd gave him an applause after the goal. Brazil now is into the semis against another favorite in Germany and those two teams were considered some of the best in the entire tournament and now they are in position to make it into the next round for the final.

The opening goal came on a corner kick from Neymar that was put in by Silva and he was wide open on the far side of the goal and it gave Brazil the lead. Colombia had not been trailing in the entire tournament until that moment and now Brazil is moving into the semis. The nation is cheering for the team, but they also have been protesting and that highway collapse will only start to inflame things and now if the team loses the nation could explode, according to Dave Zirin.

David Luiz had the eventual winning goal for Brazil, putting in a goal in the 68th minute past the Colombian keeper and now his foot is what put the team into the next round. Luiz knocked the corner flag after and now the team is set to face Germany. The Germans won 1-0 against France and now they are trying to become the first European team to win the Cup in South Africa.
