The World Cup 2014 semis from Brazil are live on Wednesday with Argentina and the Netherlands in the last matchup of the tournament before the finals and the game is live on Univision stream, ESPN Radio and WatchESPN and starts at 4 pm ET from Arena Corinthians in Sao Paulo to see who will play against Germany and Lionel Messi is the center of attention as South America tries to get a team into the final matchup.
Argentina and Netherlands are playing a very anticipated final and the Dutch side comes in playing well from the group stage and this could lead to a European final, which would be a nightmare for Brazil. The Argentinian side is looking to represent South America in the finals and this would be the first time the team has been there in decades. Messi is the best player in the world and he is showing that in this tournament and if he scores, Argentina has a good chance to win, but there's no doubt that the Dutch side has a much deeper team than Argentina and they will have to play a great game to win.
Both the Dutch and the Argentina side have solid defenders and they each have done a good job of not allowing goals and there is a good chance that this will not be like the game between Brazil and Germany. The matchup between Brazil and Germany had many circumstances in play, including Neymar and Thiago Silva being out and that really knocked Brazil out. The team was totally outplayed and now the Dutch will try and advance over Argentina and Louis Van Gaal has been making some great decisions, including when he swapped goalies in his last match and that gave the Netherlands the chance to win in penalties and they advanced in that game and now he is looking to make some smart decisions again.
Van Gaal put in Tim Krul for the penalty kicks and while that turned out great, goalie Jasper Cillessen was not too happy and he will likely be back in the starting lineup. Van Gaal was more concerned about winning and he made the right move and now the team is in position to make the final again. The Netherlands has often been the bridesmaid and not the bride at these things and now the team is trying to get to the finals for the second straight tournament and now they are looking to win it after coming in second to Spain in South Africa.
Lionel Messi made a huge pass against Belgium and that helped the team get through and he is looking to score here and the game against the Dutch could be decided on how he plays. Messi is coming into the game with Robin Van Persie and Robben as the best known players and those three could be what decides this game and the final.
