The Luis Suarez saga is almost complete for Liverpool, as the star is working on a transfer from the Reds to Barcelona following his World Cup bite controversy and once that deal is done, the team may bid on Ben Davies with a $17 million deal.
According to Pro Soccer Talk, the deal for Suarez for $130 million is working its way to completion and once that is set, the team will be working on Davies. The club likes what Davies brings and he had previously been with Rodgers at Swansea and now has a chance to come to Liverpool, where the team will be in the Champions League. He has played in the EPL for two seasons and has scored three goals in 70 games.
This follows the signings of Rickie Lambert and Adam Lallana and now Brendan Rodgers is looking to add even more to the mix as he restocks this summer. The Reds were in contention for the Premier League title last season and nearly won it at the end, but they ended up losing out to Manchester city and now they enter a new era without Suarez.
Suarez had an amazing year at Anfield and seemed to get all the goodwill back he lost for his first and second biting incidents, but after the World Cup, all of that is gone. The move to Barca is a big one, but he has shown he is a great player and if he can work out his other issues, he should be a success there.
