Phoenix Suns Rumors: Isaiah Thomas Free Agent Signing Means Goran Dragic Trade To Keep Eric Bledsoe In 2014?

The Phoenix Suns have signed restricted free agent Isaiah Thomas in a sign and trade deal with the Kings in free agency and now the team can turn their attention to keeping Eric Bledsoe, while a trade with Goran Dragic could be coming in the future to a team like the Indiana Pacers or Houston Rockets, as the Suns now have Thomas, Dragic, Tyler Ennis and Archie Goodwin.

According to ESPN.com, the Suns have signed Thomas in a sign and trade deal with the Sacramento Kings and Phoenix sent back a trade exception along with the rights to a draft pick from last season. The Suns made a small splash after coming in with tons of cap room and now the team will be looking to sign back Eric Bledsoe and they could make a number of moves. According to Marc Stein, the Indiana Pacers are interested in Goran Dragic and now that the team has Thomas as well as their other point guards, they could afford to move Dragic.

Last season Thomas had a great year with the Kings and he averaged 20 points and six assists and was one of the most efficient players in the league. The Suns now have Thomas along with Goran Dragic and a core of young players in Archie Goodwin and Alex Len and they are one of the up and coming teams in the west. Thomas said he will be thankful always for the city of Sacramento and now he moves to another team in the conference.

The Suns were one of the most improved teams in the NBA last season and with Eric Bledsoe a restricted free agent on the market, the team is signing Kings guard Isaiah Thomas, who is also an RFA and he could be the first step for a potential trade for Goran Dragic after the team signed Thomas, as the Indiana Pacers have targeted the Suns point guard.

According to Yahoo Sports and Pro Basketball Talk, Thomas is a restricted free agent this summer and he met with the Phoenix Suns about signing there and he has now signed in a sign and trade between the two sides. Thomas was one of the top guards on the market and he is coming off of a career year with the Kings despite Sacramento being terrible. Thomas was also linked to the LA Lakers, Miami Heat and Detroit Pistons as well as the Dallas Mavericks.

The Suns have been active this offseason in free agency and now they have added back PJ Tucker on a three year deal worth $16.5 million. According to Yahoo Sports, Tucker opted to stay with the team on a cap-friendly deal and now he joins back the most surprising team in the west after the Suns won 48 games last year. The team was projected to be one of the worst in the western conference, but the team ended up fighting for a playoff spot at the end of the year and now they are looking to keep the team intact. The Suns drafted Tyler Ennis with their first round pick and they also have young players like Alex Len and Miles Plumlee to build around.
