Manchester United has Louis van Gaal as their new manager and they have been linked to a number of players over the summer as the World Cup has gone on and now Arturo Vidal, Mats Hummels and Stefan de Vrij are the targets of the latest rumors, as Pro Soccer Talk and the Guardian report that the Red Devils could be interested in the center back and other players as an addition this year after Wayne Rooney and company stumbled last year.
According to the Mirror, Man U and Hummels are close to a deal following the World Cup and he comes in a key player after the win for Germany in Brazil. Hummels is 25 and his move from Borussia Dortmund is coming, as is a bid for Vidal. According to Goal.com, the Chilean star is a target for Man U and they are looking at offering over 40 million pounds in a bid for him this summer.
The report says that Vidal is a main target for the team and that a deal could get done for the 27 year old star very soon. Van Gaal said that he is a big fan of Vidal and he tried to sign him a few years ago while with another team and now united could swoop in.
David Moyes was a mess as manager of Manchester United and he was fired within his first season and now Van Gaal is in as manager as the club tries to bounce back after finishing in the middle of the EPL. According to Pro Soccer Talk, de Vrij would be the first signing since van Gaal returned from coaching the Netherlands in the World Cup and this comes after Man U also added Luke Shaw and Ander Herrera.
Last season Manchester United did not live up to expectations and many thought the club would have an active summer on the market. Van Gaal was impressive during his run with the Dutch in the World Cup and now he has high expectations coming into Old Trafford for this season.
