Fantasy Football Draft Advice 2014: David Wilson Bust Pick After Neck Stinger As Rashad Jennings, Andre Williams Best Giants RB Options

The NY Giants are hoping David Wilson's neck stinger injury is not serious, as the running back is coming off of offseason neck surgery and now could be at risk of missing time this season and for fantasy football owners, it could make Wilson a bust pick and that means Andre Williams and Rashad Jennings are the better draft options this year.

The Giants are hoping that Wilson can remain healthy this year after having issues since being drafted three years ago and now this neck problem could be what keeps him off the field. According to Pro Football Talk, Wilson suffered a neck stinger and was taken for examinations and now the team is waiting to see the severity of the injury and what it means for Wilson this season. Last January Wilson had surgery after dealing with a neck injury earlier in the season and he barely played last year and now has just 504 yards in his two seasons with the Giants.

New York picked Wilson with the 32nd pick in the draft back after they won the Super Bowl and now he has to find a way to contribute like a first round pick. The team signed Jennings in the offseason and also drafted Andre Williams and now both of those players are expected to have major impacts, especially if Wilson can't go. Jennings was with the Raiders last season and has much less wear and tear than running backs his age and now he could be the primary starter with Williams as the backup.

Wilson was cleared for full contact in mid-July and now he could be on the sidelines and that is bad news for the Giants, as they are putting in a new offense and need everyone to step up. The team has also been dealing with Odell Beckham having an injured hamstring and he was the first round pick for the team this past draft. The Giants need all of these players to contribute and this will be a big test for the team and things move along this offseason.

Eli Manning needs everyone to step up and he needs to have a better season overall, as he was a mess last year and had a career high 27 interceptions. Ben McAdoo comes in as the new offensive coordinator and he has to find a way to get the rushing game going. Last season the Giants started 0-6 and had one of the worst rushing attacks in football and now they will try and get that more consistent. Losing Wilson hurts, but after his neck injury the team wasn't expecting much from him and now that could come to pass.
