US Open 2014 Schedule: Tennis Major Tournament Starts In August For Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams

The tennis season is now into the hardcourt portion with the US Open coming up in a month and things start up on August 25 in Flushing for Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Serena Williams for the final grand slam major of the year and the tournament is very anticipated this year and the ATP schedule currently has the Rogers Cup, Western & Southern Open and Winston-Salem Open before the United States Open in Queens.

Serena Williams is coming back after her odd performance at Wimbledon and she won her first match since losing in England, beating Karolina Pliskova in straight sets to advance in the Bank of the West Classic. Williams is now into the next round and she is through to the quarterfinals after speeding through the second set and now she faces Ana Ivanovic after she won while only giving up two games and Varvara Lepchenko won against Agnieszka Radwanska to advance.

Williams said that she was feeling good heading into the tournament and that she is excited to get back into action after losing at Wimbledon. Williams said she is focused on being ready for the US Open and now she has the chance to get back in shape after the problems in England. The Open got a new name, as Tommy Haas withdrew from the tournament and now Marcos Baghdatis is in.
