Borussia Dortmund comes in after winning their last friendly and that was against Rot-Weiss Essen and before that the team pulled a draw with VfL Osnabrück and before that they won two in a row. The team won over FC Heidenheim as well as KSV Hessen Kassel, while the team also played against Bayern back in May and that saw a loss for Borussia Dortmund.
It was Bayern Munich all the way once again in Bundesliga and while Borussia Dortmund had a very good season and made it into Champions League qualifying for next year, they weren't even close to the top spot and now the top three are in the UCL for next year and Bayer Leverkusen made it into the playoff round. Bayern Munich ended up 19 points ahead of Borussia in the standings and they finished seven points up on Schalke and now they have the chance to impress once again in the Champions League.
The Premier League has tough teams into the UCL this year too, as Manchester City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Chelsea made it from the EPL. Last season Bayern Munich did a good job and got close to the end, but it ended up being Real Madrid as the winner of the title over Atletico Madrid. Chiveo comes into the matchup after winning in May against Inter and they have not been in action for a little while and they have gone 2-3 over their last five matchups.
