Wimbledon 2012 Results: Tsonga Advances to Semifinals, Tebows in Celebration

Tsonga has advanced to the Semifinals at Wimbledon. He defeated Philip Kohlschreiber 7-6, 4-6, 7-6, 6-4.

Just like the score says, it was a very tight match.

The second set became a little bit dramatic as Kohlschreiber led 4-1. Just when announcers said Tsonga should change his mindset and focus on winning the third set.

Tsonga went on a run and won three straight games to tie the set at 4, but seemed to run out of gas right after as Kolschreiber ultimately won the set 6-4.

The two exchanged punches in the third set and responded to each others leads.

Eventually, they went into a tiebreaker. Tsonga 2-0 lead but Kolschreiber tied it.  Tsonga jumped out to a 5-2 and closed out the tiebreaker 7-3.

Early in the fourth set, Tsonga looked more like a basketball player as he completely overpowered Kolschreiber. Both players were up at the net when Tsonga reached back and hammered down a ball for a point.

Then to make the score 4-1, got two aces to take the dominant lead. He took advantage of unforced errors from Kolschreiber's behalf.

Right at the end of the match, after his victory, Tsonga got down on one knee and emulated New York Jets quarterback, Tim Tebow.

Tsonga will now wait for either David Ferrer (7) or Andy Murray (4) to finish their match as he will face one of them in the Semis.
