The Philadelphia Eagles and Chicago Bears are playing on the NFL preseason schedule in Friday night from Soldier Field at 8 pm ET for Week 1 and coverage is live online from the league website site as the NFC East division winner takes on Jay Cutler and the Monsters of the Midway.
Last season the Philadelphia Eagles won their division on the final night of the season while beating the Dallas Cowboys in Texas and now they come back even more loaded and also with a full year under their belts with the Chip Kelly offense.
Michael Vick is gone, but Nick Foles showed last season that he is a very foo starter and he now will come into the start of the schedule as the number one quarterback ahead of Matt Barkley. Foles had a fantastic season in 2013 and now he will have to find a way to do it again minus wide receiver Desean Jackson, as he was released in the offseason and is now with the rival Washington Redskins.
The Chicago Bears just missed the playoffs last season and now they return after their franchise record offensive season and also in a bad way their record defensive season. The team was prolific with Matt Forte, Brandon Marshall and Alshon Jeffery along with Jay Cutler and Josh McCown, but the defense gave up a team record amount of yards and that is one area where coach Marc Trestman is looking to improve.
The Bears signed LaMarr Houston from the Oakland Raiders in the offseason and they also added Kyle Fuller to help in the secondary and that should give the team a boost along with Jared Allen on D and especially in the secondary. The team has a tough division with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions and all of those teams have the potential to win the division and make the playoffs.
